Welcome to the Luqsee Blog, Looped In. On Looped In, we'll cover topics ranging from fast fashion, circular fashion, reselling, buying previously loved clothing, trends in reselling, styling tips, and so much more.
But first, what is Luqsee?
Luqsee is a resale marketplace for men and women's previously loved clothing, shoes, and accessories. Luqsee is vastly different from any of the other resale sites out there. Our inventory comes straight from people's overflowing closets to a reseller who is experienced in photographing, listing, prepping, packaging, storing and shipping individual items you would typically find on sites like Depop, Poshmark, Mercari, eBay, and Curtsy.
Luqsee connects overflowing closets of everyday people, who have everyday things that they never or rarely worn, with resellers who know how to deal with those items.
The average person owns over 350 items of clothing and only wears 14-18% of those items in any given 6 month period. There are many reasons for this which we'll cover in future blog posts, but the point is, that nearly everyone is dealing with an abundance of clothing and textiles that they aren't using.
When someone looks to pare down their closet they are faced with obstacles that I'm sure most of you are familiar with:
- You try to consign your clothing with a local consignment shop: This ends in utter frustration when the consignee will only take 1 or 2 items when you've come in with a whole tote full of items.
- You try to sell your clothes at a store who buys previously owned clothing: They might take a few more pieces but you'll get only a few dollars at most.
- You try to sell your clothes yourself on Poshmark, Facebook, etc: You realize IT'S A LOT OF WORK to photograph, list, package, store, ship, and answer customer inquiries.
- Maybe you've sent a whole bag to ThreadUP only to find they won't pay out on hundreds of brands or anything that sells under $20. Sad faces all around. :-(
- Your last ditch effort is to willy nilly donate, the clothing that you barely or never wore and you have no idea what happens after that. Psstt...70% of donated clothing ends up in the landfill. More sad faces :-(
Luqsee removes all of those obstacles. By connecting an overflowing closet with an experienced seller, and selling on a marketplace designed just for this purpose, with a high quality buyer experience, this becomes a win, win, win for everyone involved.
We will roll out this high touch service in phases. Please join our waitlists to either consign your overflowing closet or become a seller as a Luqsee partner.
